Branding

Client Brief

Green and Gorgeous was a new company so a brand needed to be created. The aim was to ensure when people see the logo, they see the brand without having to read the name. The logo itself was born from the request from the client to make sure his white van stood out from the thousands of other similar vehicles on the roads.

The outcome

The name of the company was inspiring enough to feed off but it also helped the subject matter offered a host of different approaches. After showing the client a few sketches, it was decided to go for more of an illustrative approach to the design rather than your standard logo. The eye naturally takes in information from left to right and any design feeding from the left would work well on the side of the van. Different elements were used that you would find in any healthy garden, so birds, bees, flowers, butterflies and of course some grass were all brought together around the idea of a 'splat' - a splat of paint being the signifier for ideas and creativity. The logo ended up doing the job exceptionally well and the client has had a lot of work from people noticing the van, an excellent argument for the use of van wrap graphics for continuous free advertising.

Web Design & Build

Client Brief

The website needed to be big, bold and colourful. The buttons needed to be big and say "I am a button" so even people using the web for the first time wouldn't find it difficult to navigate the site. An easily updateable gallery was required and lots of colourful and inspiring pictures of gardens and flowers.

The outcome

Although the site is small and basic it has attracted lots of clients for Green and Gorgeous, specifically some of the larger jobs. Based on the meta information and the site design the search engines picked up the site nice and quickly so it flew to the top of the rankings. The site was clean, effective and designed to a fairly tight budget and met the requirements of the client whilst keeping the consistency of the branding. This is critical so anyone coming to the site from a business card or from seeing the van would see the same branding in action. This looks professional and trustworthy which is a priceless message to get across for a new company.

Vehicle Wrap Graphics

We worked closely with the van wrap guys on this one to make sure we got proofs through with the correct colours before the main print run. After sending them the graphics on vehicle blueprints, it was easy for them then to relay the printed graphics onto the actual vehicle accurately. Considering this van was originally dark blue, the final result looked great and was as eye-catching as we could get using a single colour, which then meant the cost of the van print was kept to a minimum. All in all, a successful outcome.

Print

In keeping with the birth of their company branding, corporate id was created and supplied. Letter heads, business cards, compliment slips and any other printed material required was designed and delivered in whatever format the client wanted. In this case, print ready pdf's were supplied with pantone colour references so should any more prints be required, the client simply had to send the file to any reputable printers and they would be able to do the rest.
